Eating Together, Eating Healthy
How do you define healthy eating?
- Choosing foods which honor the earth?
- Tailoring your diet to your body?
- Buying foods grown and harvested so that workers stay healthy and are paid a living wage?
- Gaining the benefits of laughter and friendship?
Mark you calendar for the first Wednesdays of summer for three potlucks for friendship and healthy eating. Let the dish you bring reflect a healthy habit that you are trying to adopt. Bring the list of ingredients so that others can choose which dishes meet their goals. Be prepared to swap recipes. All ages welcome.
No guilt, no preaching. Just friendship and the encouragement that comes from journeying together.
Themes:
June 6: Why did you choose to bring this dish?
July 4: After dinner, join others watching the fireworks.
August 1: Swap gardening advice with others preparing to plant a fall garden.
IDEA: With folks already there for dinner, why not plan your meeting or group for after the meal?
- submitted for the Growth Committee
